Opportunities are available in the following areas
Education Program Intern
Hands-on experience with educational tours and programming for children ages 6-21. The intern will assist in educational tours, developing multi-disciplinary educational programs for public and private schools, grant proposal research and reports, coordinating HDOE aligned materials to national standards and supporting community outreach programs. Museum Studies Intern
Hands-on learning experience with museum collections, artifact accessioning, historical research, artifact identification and artifact restoration. Volunteer interns receive direct supervision and instruction provided by the Curatorial Department. Volunteer Translator/ Foreign Language Studies Intern
Ability for students to use their foreign language and translation skills with a multitude of foreign visitors from the Pacific Rim countries. Translate and explain WWII and aviation history to visitors from all over the world, especially Japan, Korea, and China. Volunteer interns may work in the Education Department, Curatorial Department or the Marketing Department and will receive direct supervision by the Director of Education, Associate Curator and Director of Marketing. Previous experience and/or knowledge of WWII history or aviation not required. Written information and prepared materials provided. Bilingual Tour Guides
Tour guides fluent in English/Japanese. Strong written and verbal communication skills required. A knowledge of aviation and museums is preferred but not required.
