When: Saturday, October 21, 2017
Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor will host a one-day, museum-wide event to educate and excite visitors about career opportunities in the field of aviation. Discover Your Future in Aviation is an education/job fair that provides youth and young adults with information and resources related tot he aviation and aerospace industries. With special emphasis on young women and underserved populations, the goal is to stimulate interest and present opportunities in STEM careers.
We will host exhibitors from a number of university aviation programs from across the country, as well as representatives from a variety of aviation and aerospace-based businesses and organizations. There will be informative workshops and panels held throughout the day to educate visitors on university program recruitment, military options and job application processes.
Additionally, we will have two keynote speakers — Z. Nagin Cox, a NASA Mars Rover engineer whose accomplishments in aerospace were groundbreaking, and Captain Ronald McGee, who will talk about his own aviation career was shaped by his father’s pioneering experience as a Tuskegee Airman. Finally, the project will include a number of family-oriented activities, such as radio control aircraft flying demonstrations, open cockpits and booths for hands-on educational activities.
