Women in Aviation Conference - Buy Tickets

Debuts At Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor - April 16, 17, 18

The first annual Women in Aviation Conference will be held at Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 16, 17, and 18. The Conference will be a weekend filled with enhanced exhibits, seminars, talks, an aviation career fair, and a showing of the film, Amelia with discussion about the contribution women have made to the field of aviation. The conference is free with Museum admission.

Seminars and talks will be held on Saturday, April 17 in the Education Center every hour on the hour, from 10:00 am to 5:00pm. Topics include “Navigating the Path to becoming an Aviator,” “African American Women in Aviation History,” and a presentation on the Young Eagles program.

The Career Fair Saturday, April 17, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm will feature national and local companies and organizations that strive to promote interest in aviation as a career. It will be an opportunity to network with aviation enthusiasts and those who work in the field, from pilots to mechanics.

Women Mechanics

The feature film Amelia will be shown Friday & Sunday, April 16 & 18 at 2:00 pm in the Museum Theatre, with an historical talk introducing it. Amelia tells the story of the life of legendary American pilot Amelia Earhart.

Enter To Win Prizes: A Robin Olds signed F-4 Phantom II Model Plane, Stearman Biplane Rides, flights on Mokulele/go!, signed aircraft books, Museum memberships and logowear will be among the prizes given away. Guests need not be present to win.

According to Executive Director Kenneth DeHoff, "The conference is designed to encourage individuals to become active participants in the aviation community and to create interest in the fields of math and science, in keeping with our mission to educate young and old."

Women in Aviation themed books, videos, art, apparel and period gifts will be available in the Museum store. Laniakea Cafe will be serving meals and snacks all day.

Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor is open 9am to 5pm daily and is accessed by air conditioned shuttle buses from the USS Arizona Memorial Visitor Center at Pearl Harbor. Museum admission tickets are available online or at the Arizona Memorial Visitor Center. A free flight simulator coupon is available online. You may also phone (808) 441-1000 to purchase tickets.

Daily, visitors from all over the world view the vintage aircraft collection, enjoy hands on technology experiences including combat flight simulators, hear moving stories told by veteran docents, and experience "A Date Which Will Live In Infamy" through historic films and audio. The Museum gift shop and restaurant are unique in their offerings and their authentic 1940s ambiance.

Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. Its mission is to develop and maintain an internationally recognized aviation museum on historic Ford Island that educates young and old alike, honors aviators and their support personnel who defended freedom in the Pacific Region, and preserves Pacific aviation history. The Museum provides educational programs for adults and children and is located at 319 Lexington Boulevard, on Ford Island at Pearl Harbor.
